CBRE to Open Leading-Edge Suburban Office

CBRE has announced that it will bring its highly successful Workplace360 initiative to the Chicago suburbs with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art 45,000-square-foot office in Oak Brook, Ill.

The move will bring together all of CBRE’s suburban employees under one roof in an effort to foster increased collaboration, improve productivity, better serve its clients and establish a world-class work environment aimed at recruiting and retaining the firm’s industry-leading talent.

The new office will be located on the top two floors of Oak Brook Pointe (700 Commerce Drive), where the firm currently leases 20,243 square feet. The new 45,000-square-foot space will also accommodate employees previously based at the firm’s Schaumburg (20 N. Martingale) and Bannockburn offices.

“We are excited for the collaborative culture our new office will create for our employees and for the opportunity to demonstrate a new way of working to our clients and the broader business community in suburban Chicago,” said Bill Wright, a CBRE managing director and co-project lead.

Workplace360 is CBRE’s leading-edge approach to workplace strategy designed to promote flexibility, mobility and productivity through technology-enabled, 100-percent free-address and paperless offices.

In October 2014, CBRE transitioned its downtown Chicago office to Workplace360 at 321 N. Clark St.

“This strategy has always been the long-term vision for all of our Chicago-area operations,” said Chris Zubel, another CBRE managing director and co-project lead. “We have already seen how much of a boon this has been for our business in the city and we are confident we will see the same results in this new office, which will allow the collective talent and knowledge of all of our suburban professionals to interact and collaborate in an amazing workplace environment.”

CBRE’s Gary Fazzio, vice chairman, Jon Springer, executive vice president, and Paul Diederich, senior vice president represented the firm in the transaction. Jeff Mann, senior vice president with CBRE, represented the landlord in the transaction.

As it did with its downtown office, CBRE will leverage its industry-leading Workplace Strategy and Project Management teams to implement Workplace360 from initiation through move-in. CBRE has opened 34 Workplace360 offices around the world, with another 15 in development.
